20mins spinning on the windtrainer while listening to The Pogues. 60min very easy trail run on the ridge behind my home. A glorious sunset.

HR123,
tend to agree with mopak as per other thread. Even though i have become much more conservative at valueing general state of health with respect to performance.
Have you figured out if there was one prevalent factor which hurt your Achilles?
life has gotten in the way of my running lately.....several things on my plate have made this a hectic few days.....did manage 35' the other day.....calendar full for the rest of the week.....may be able to sneak something in on Friday.....here's hoping....
From what I get from the sports doc, I need to strengthen my arch and a lot of other leg muscles...lack of strength in certain muscles caused it I think...led to deteriorated form. So I'm doing a lot of new exercises now.
10 miles in 1:50 . Progress was slowed by frequent stops to clear the trail of limbs dropped by high winds over the weekend.
The miles melted by easily as sustained banter lifted spirits.
Bass Lake echoed with the calls of a pair of loons.

It's just so hardcore, but maybe I'm just an old softie. I cannot imagine doing 6 x 1 Mile at sub 4:40 back in the day. I wonder if Bekele et al do multiple sub 4min Mile repeats.
Another runner has started an interesting thread about a very similar workout. I post the link below in case any of you would like to revisit this topic.

Yeah Skuj you tell him. 70 seconds rest my arse. When that guy runs 29:30 we'll know, won't we? That's prolly RD just trying to start sumthing with you. RD thinks just cause you couldnt do 6 x 1 Mile at sub 4:40 back in the day that his guy cant. I'll go there and let them know that you know.

6 miles in pouring rain through the park during dusk...it was nearly pitch-back, it was raining, I was drenched and I didn't give a damn. Just glad to be back!
today: in cortona for a Mayday break. Some laps during local soccer team training session, then my fave quadrupedia and foot drills on grass, than i strode a couple of 400s just for form. That's all the time i had before we got the fireplace going for some indoor bbqueing.
yesterday: squeezed in 6x400s barefoot on the track, right off the bike (Time is far too precious lately: 75,78,78, 75, 76, 75) with a lap by-feel recovery, just could not go faster. ironically, when you are in a hurry you train slower...
btw, the cross-thread trolling is socio-anthropologically fascinating!
thought about running most of the day, but procrastinated.
PM. Spirited mountain bike ride, 1 hour duration. The Bride and I celebrated with a post ride feast at the local Chinese deli. Life is good.
It's been another hectic week for me. However, I see some people are fortunate to have enough time on their hands to help maintain a high "entertainment" level at letsrun. Ha, ha! Not to mention the paranoia level of one poster in particular who seems to think I am following him around letsrun and the internet. Yikes!
Anyway it's been pretty much a run-free week until yesterday when I squeezed in 35 minutes before it was off to another committment last night. Saturday's schedule is full and will not allow for any exercise. The plan is to get out for 45-50 tomorrow. Here's hoping!
Keep up the good work, all!
Club relays, 3 laps of 1060m around a very dry looking lake in Eaglehawk. Ran the first leg for the 'B' team. Went out hard and just seemed to be running flat out all the way on a flat bitumen bike track. Back on sensible dirt tomorrow for a 6.5k trail race, although this one is a bit flat for my liking.
I'll echo that sentiment on pavement. With each passing year the affinity for trails grows stronger for me.
Belt out a good one on dirt tomorrow.
X-train again. 48 minutes on catskis. AHR 127. The grass is greening, and buds starting to pop out leaves.
You suck! From my view you are an obvious troll. Going to one sight and copying it here is pathetic. Get a life.

Today: Rainy in Cortona, temperature oscillating on an hourly basis. Cleaning, cooking, then horsebackriding for the kids. Long walk back, mostly uphill.
Yesterday: 25 mins uphill very slow, great warmup for tendons. The cruised downhill, very fluidly.
Tmw, got a 10K at Castiglion del Lago.
Is it just my vdt or is the a Viagra, Cialis and what not ad on this thread????
I was on the floor when it popped up... It feels like some young mod is tryng to tell us something...
driske: best to you and the bride!
A 4k warmup with a 4.05km thrown in to open the pipes.
6.5k club handicap, flat trails and gravel roads plus about 500m of bitumen. Sluggish start but found the gears after 1/2 way. 2d half was about 20secs faster than the first 1/2. Passed 6 runners in the last km but never really saw the winner George -last weeks runner up.
Ended up 3d again passed by the speedy Greg H in the last km. Pleased with the result on such a fast course. My last 3k split was at a faster pace than yesterdays 3.18k dead flat bitumen relay. An easy 2k jog post race with my son.
Not suprisingly, my "paranoid shadow" has surfaced with a new moniker. Good one! Ha, ha!
Unlike the troll, my primary purpose here is to continue the discussion of our daily running. Today I shook off a week of mostly running inactivity to cruise through a blissful 50 minutes on the quiet Sunday morning roads and trails. Oh to be able to do this more often. How soon to retirement? Ha, ha! Still no plans to take this "training" to another level. I'm enjoying this too much!
Keep up the good work, all!
Sporting Life 10k race this morning, finished in just about 37 minutes...felt great coming back from injury, didn't think I'd be able to hold that speed. My pet goal is to break 35 minutes for a June 12 10k.
Mississauga half marathon is next week...should I race it or take it easy in deference to my May 24 Ottawa goal?
