Hey, Skuj, it's Monday and we're waiting for your weekly report. The big sub 2:16 race is this week and we're excited to know how your preparations are going. No excuses like RD, right, Skuj? That troll couldnt break 19 in a 5K. LOL. Now the truth comes out that he is just a weekend warrior. Good luck with the race Skuj. No excuses like RD. I predict 2:12.
For the week ending April 12th 2009:
M=0
T=20min jog + 8x100m + 500m + 1000m + 600m + 2x800m + Mile + 2min jog. The last 100m was 14.71, the 500m was a harsh 1:28 (fading badly) and the Mile was a stong feeling 5:36. Some progress! (The other runs in CVRRTNW were easy paced.)
W=40min recovery jog + 4 short accels + 5min jog. (Grass.)
T=55min easy + 4 short accels + 5min jog.
F=0
S=30min grass jog + 8x60m + 600m + 5min jog. The 600m was a 1:48 which felt very good at first, then I faded very badly. I hit a massive wall after 400m! I'm almost too embarrassed to say that the first 300m was a cruisy 51. (Do the math!) Night shifts may have something to do with this, but, clearly, I'm not feeling ready to race 800m anytime soon.
S=DAY 1!!! 20min jog + several strides + 5km road course in a moderate tempo 19:39 + 10min jog. 19:39 has never felt so huffy and puffy. I AM SO OUT OF SHAPE. A winter of "superjogging" will do this.
(RD, it has been proven that you are VBC, you have been telling me "2:10" and "2:12", and I've been telling you "NO", and you know you want to find yet another reason to trash me after I "fail" to do what you say I should.......but it doesn't matter.
I'm not racing this weekend.)
10mi over lunch. ran from the office down and thru wilderness park and back. cover the last 2.5mi pretty quickly. hoping to race a 10k this weekend
10 miles in 1:06, somewhat challenging route. Ran up each incline/hill as fast as I could.
27 days to go till my goal marathon.
decided to go back-to-back days, but kept it short....30' ish on one of my recently discovered trail systems.....checked out a short connector that had recently been opened....got a little muddy, but not as wet as i expected....day off today to attend a meet.....hoping to touch 50' again tomorrow.....we'll see....
Skuj, I don't know if that is you or the troll. Who else would say I am RD and there is proof. No way that is true. Just more lies from RD who obviously copied that post from cvrr. And I only said I predict 2:12 and never said 2:10. And you have never said NO before cause I never made a prediction before. So you must be RD trolling with Skuj's handle. Typical stalking by you. The real Skuj will come on here and report you to letsrun.com and you will be exposed for the stalking troll that you are.
Real Skuj, don't worry cause I've still got your back. I'm still hoping for 2:12 this week for you. I can't wait for you to show the knowitalls that you know what you are doing.
Trail run with longtime friend and training ally.
3.15 miles at 10/min pace. Frost leaving the ground made for interesting footing.
Maple harvest is complete. I welcome the return to the sane world and DYRT's intricacies.
ah driske, with that set up, if i were a true letsrunner i would have done this entry with "intricator of threads" handle... being the troll that i am, i'll just have to stick to my own tpcb.
Can't say i didnt miss you (all very platonic dude, platonic i say...)
today: brief barefoot warmup; the in vibrams on track, 3x800 in 2m45s with 2m30s rec; then 3x(500m, 2mins recovery, 300m 2mins recovery) in
1:42, :55; 1:40, :58, 1:41, :55)
bike commute
RD why dont you just get a f***ing life.

Skuj, don't you see that RD is posting under your name again? He's telling lies like I said 2:10 when I never did and that you said NO when you never did. And yes I have posted stuff from cvrr on here. I have not tried to hide that, have I? No. And this proves that I am not RD as he has been banned from there. You said so yourself. I don't believe what the troll said about your 800 race this week. Until I hear it from the real Skuj, I will continue to pray for a 2:12 from our hero. This guy made this thread and not RD. He deserves our support and encouragement. Go, Skuj!!!!
Today was a 30min bike ride to work, 30 min ride home. Then out to the Dargile forest for a very easy hour jog among the stands of black trunked ironbarks and the grass trees (my favourite indigenous flora).
Yesterday was a 20min easy run to the trotting track. I did 6x400m on the soft sand -92,90,88,86,88,88. 320m jog between. Quite tough work in the heavy sand. Ran 20mins back to home.
Driske, good to have you back on board.
What is the process of harvesting the maple?
Hey Running Dogg, read my lips:I AM NOT RACING THIS WEEKEND. I think I am in 2:20 shape if I'm lucky.So go ahead and start your Skuj bashing early.

85 minutes @ 10min./mile pace. 2 cronies in consort,Pressed Rats teamates,Neil and Captain John.
On the glacial terrain surrounding Timms Hill.
mopak, here comes your maple primer.
Gather many gallons of the maple trees sap( this is done in a variety of ways,i.e.buckets or poly tubing).
Concentrate and cook it over a wood fire in a massive boiling pan until it attains a syrup consistency, (66% sugar and mineral content)
The average tap (tree) will yield 1 quart of syrup per season.Typical season is 3-4 weeks in length.
Sap leaves the tree at an average 2.5% sugar content,hence 35 gallons of raw product is needed to come up with one gallon of finished product.The energy cost to boil away all that excess water is what makes it so expensive.
Reverse Osmosis seperation has been used in recent years to concentrate the sap and there by reduce energy inputs ,but it is still a very labor and fuel intensive pursuit.
Our final crop tallied 7,250 gallons of syrup from approx. 20,000 trees. It was an above average year in terms of quality and yield. Thanks for your interest.

I don't think your Skuj, but maybe you are. I don't think so because Skuj knows I am his biggest lr fan and I am not RD. He's got the proof. But maybe you are Skuj cause I read on cvrr that you may not run this 800 (that proves again I am not RD who is banned on cvrr). Sorry to hear about your back and we'll miss you when you go away. No bashing here.
10mi in ~65min. combo of city trails, limestone trails and a little bit on the horsetrails. wind was at my back mostly on way in, so was able to get the pace down a little under 6m/m. felt pretty good. looking fwd to racing this weekend.
beautiful account driske. Do you sell it? I have been to some plantations in Quebec and didnt want to leave they were so beautiful...
today: 50 mins easy in Villa Pamphili at sunsetting solitude...reflective...
A nice strong 49min run. Out along the creek trail to the golf course, a lap around the golf course then up to the top of Viewing Rock -8mins for the final rocky 1.7k climb.
All up a pleasing run at close to tempo pace.
Thanks for the explanation Driske. 20,000 maple trees -that must be a sight!
change of plans due to a modification of the daily workout for one of the gang.....did laps in the track area while that workout was ongoing....wanted to be nearby to periodically check up on things......boredom combined with the need for my presence during a challenging portion limited my own running to 35'......will be in the same situation today, so not sure when the next assault on 50' will be attempted.....gotta drop some poundage.....good to hear about the maple sugaring.....would love to hear more about the orange sheep.....wouldn't mind hearing less from LOLO/Skuj/VBC...oh well, comes with the territory I guess.....
