RE: Class of 2013 Commits

Colorado's class is pretty impressive thus far. All three are strength based runners and should fit in well with the 5k+ focus CU tends to have.

I know Columbia has a good chunk of their men's class intact, but how bout Princeton? Any commits?

Syracuse has Nick Ryan and Colin Bennie. Not sure if they got anyone else but those are two quality guys.

Princeton has Will Bertrand from Maryland but I haven't heard anyone else. I honestly thought Vig would make a bigger splash in recruiting but I guess it will take him a year to get his feet wet. He should be able to get a lot of talent there.

From a pure XC perspective it will be hard to beat Colorado's class but if Montoya chooses Oregon theirs will be number 1. If not then I like Colorado's class best.

Ben Saarel is future NCAA champ, you heard it here first.

Vig is bringing in Will Paulson from England: 1:53, 3:46, 8:24 and is looking at a few other Brits as well

Milesplit PR times are not always accurate, some meets don't get reported. For example, Fernandez is a 4:17, 9:14, 8:38, and had a 14:05 3m in XC this past fall, along with the 14:34 at Mt Sac, which is in the top 10-15 all-time on that course.

Hey thanks to all you people on this board who have posted the commitments. That is hard info to get.

I would also agree with some of you that give the edge to Colorado on this class because Wetmore has done so much with guys and gals with less talent than these guys have.

If he could consistently recruit guys of this caliber as say Oregon or Stanford does each year, Colorado would just be downright unstoppable.

As good as these new CU recruits are, I don't see any of them cracking the top 5 or even 6 for that matter for CU this year. I think there will be a dog fight for the 7th spot though.

John Lawson (9th at FL) and Richard Ho both to UCLA

I heard Estifanos was looking into UCLA too.. what's the word on that? Lawson and Ho both committed? Where'd you hear that from. Hopefully they don't disappear off the radar like a bunch of other UCLA runners in the past.

Stanford gets such a great recruiting class every year! Are the academics just too rigorous to have a championship xc team or too many great runners to focus attention (especially with both genders so talented)?
