why would you run there if your wife was gonna drive there anyways?

15 miles Hebron to Manchester CT. and part way back stopped at a store completly out of energy convinced the guy to let me drink two Frapacinos and eat a Snickers Marathon bar, borrow the phone, call my wife to come pick me up and pay him when she got there. Whew!
walked dog, then a quick 15:00 before another family event...an early AM breakfast
the Holidays wreck havoc with my running
14 miles today. Less than intended. But faster than intended as well. I'll settle for 91 this week. Half is in 2 weeks so starting to cut down a bit for it (75 next week, 55 week of). And ideas for what workouts I should be doing now?
yesterday - 0 celsius, 1h33m under freezing rain, solo. Felt like I was always ready to kick it in, last 2k steep uphill finish, best run in a long long time. Must have been about a half mara. Immediate recovery.
12/27 - 1 hour in the park, steady
12/26 - rest
12/25 - tradition maintained. quickie xmas run.
30:00 run including 3x hill repeats. Mild out for late December, nice.
Had big post-Christmas lunch AM munchies at work...burp!
10 miles, paced my buddy to a 5k PR without too much effort on the track. Wind and hail made for some fun conditions though.
AM, 15k skiing X-C. 1.5 miles running PM . Legs felt light and lively. Temps in mid teens. 7" new snow pushed us into record totals for December.
1hr easy in the park.
best wishes for 2009!
Did a bit over 8 miles in a quick (by my standards) sub-60 minute time. Think I'm running too fast these days. Windy as f*** on the east coast right now.
shoveled snow
2:00 of burpees...wow they are sneaky challenging
shoveled more snow
Happy '09
45 at a moderate pace with team. Felt kind of tight, freezing at first but when got really warm near the end.
Gonzo, I love me some burpees! They should be a part of everyone's training. Great stuff!!
I actually spent some time on the track today for some repeat 400s at mile race pace. The running wasn't too tough, but the snow and wind were brutal. I sure picked a good day for this. Ha ha.
Keep up the good work, all! May 2009 be filled with great runs for you!
45 min X-C ski, solo and hard, classic tech.
TPCB, gonzo, here's my plan, mopak, RD, and all.
Happy New Year!!!
PS. Burpees ,ah I love it.
Burpees are the new paradigm for when the snow is flying.
After some reading on line it appears I had the wrong approach: it appears they should be performed in sets akin to intervals as opposed to one doing them for time.
NOW I find out...oh well.
Happy New Year everyone.
Haven't run so far today. We had some friends and my grand-daughters stay and we had a big BBQ breakfast this morning.
I did a nice leisurely 80min ride in the forest yesterday, also a 400m swim.
Tuesday was a feelgood 78min run on oh so smooth dirt paths in Bendigo.
I shall do some burpees prior to my run just for you Gonzo.
A hilly 80 min trail run in the Tooborac Forest and over some steep sheep paddocks. Quite windy in the paddocks. About 20 deg C and sunny. Worked pretty strongly up the hills but probably pretty slow overall, maybe about 16k.

awright, 2009, The year of the Burpee! Will try and let you know
Snuck out for the not-to-be-missed new year's day run. warm and humid in vibrams. Stopped at noon by the Tiber to see the traditional dive from the bridge by Mr. OK and his buddies.
Then it was back home up the Gianicolo hill for 30m mins of 90secs hard, 60 secs easier. 65 minutes total. feeling aok.
17 miles yesterday, looking to hit up just 8 or 9 today depending on how the weather holds up, some strides at the end. Kind of hung over (first time I drank more than just a beer in 6 or 7 months...) so its going to suck.
