Quick catch up. Sat. was a 1h50m ride in forests around Lake Eppalock before the grandkids arrived. Sunday, a late evening run of 2h38min in the same area and also a swim in the lake. Longest run I've done for a while.
Yesterday a nice hour biking on farm roads near Puckapunyal Army Base. A sad day with the loss of one of my sporting idols.
Today was a real slow jog through rough terrain in the Argyle forests. 1hr 43mins. Just out exploring, legs still weary after sunday long run. A nice morning, 20deg C, some cloud cover.
Lots happening in these forests at the moment. A company has just got a permit to look for gold. Lots of new holes in the ground. There are literally 1000s of old ones. The area was heavily mined in the 1850s gold rush. Our little town of 2500 was a town of 30,000 back in 1850.
Sunday, Colder than average conditions prevail. Traveled the two and a half hours to the Upper Peninsula of MI to X-C on the Hills of the Penokee Range. Got in 2 hours of skiing covering just under 12 miles. Slow snow with temperature at 8F. Lake effect systems continue to refresh the growing snow base in the proximity of Lake Superior.
8deg F wow!! I'm thinking it's a bit cool out there this morning at 20deg C. -about 70ishdeg F.
5/9 double in conditions that I shall just call "really freakin cold." Other than that felt amazing! Workout tomorrow!
mopak: Running for Gold, huh? Way, way rad...today: the freakin plumbing from last week was not a done job. i plunged away in the siphon box for another 2 hours, and this time, i won. It felt like i was flossing a dinosaur. My hands are ravaged...but i won.i was so tensed up with so little time left, i just bolted out the door for a quick 32 minutes in the park as quick as i could. Felt driven, very driven. Felt cold because it was way past lunch and i had an empty stomach. And then it hit me:Letsrun is like continuing education, like Running101, it's like going to school to study Running and how it affects Life. One day, when i will stop visiting this wonderful site, I shall fondly remember these posting days...Bike commute to work, will bike home.

8x200m in 27 sec. with 2 min rest between reps.
10 miles and change. Tempo run, 30:30. Went on an unmarked, unknown route, so I would just go by feel. I think this is what I should do more often.
today: 90 minutes on grass, including 14x100m strider. With shoes.
A student (total air head) driving one of these minicars thought well not to stop at a stop sign a couple days back when i was on a scooter.
Fell down on the left side to avoid crash (i was driving quite slowly) and my foot was stuck for a brief while under the scooter's frame. Just a bit sore and swollen on the edge near the pinky. Can't imagine anything fractured but decided to put a bit of protection on my feet until swelling goes away.
Bike commute.
5/6 double. Meant to be longer. Wasn't feeling it at all...
Treadmill:
25min easy warm-up
20 x 30sec hard (30 sec standing recovery)
10min easy cool-down
2 laps of the rough, hilly Rodney trail loop in 91mins (48/43). Pretty hot, about 30 deg C. and sunny. Pretty easy 1st lap, worked the hills on the 2d lap.
This loop runs through ironbark and grass tree forest. Not much out and about in the forest, a few wallabies and a large (1.5metre) goanna were the only wildlife I saw out there. Nearly sh+t myself when the goanna bolted across the track in front of me.
Yesterday I did a 1/2 hour spin in the morning and an easy hour ride in the forests in the evening.
walk to work, could be a rest day
Todays HI, a brisk 16 F.
Question for mopak/ Was it goanna that Mick Dundee referred to as giving him gas??
tpcb, Did Concrete Runner ever pick up that tossed gauntlet??
Skied X-C 30 min., totally informal, low intensity.
Early morning striders on wood chip trail in the rain. Late afternoon 5k progression run on treadmill.
Remember: There is no such thing as bad weather - only bad clothing.

3.4 miles ,relaxed pace.
Early start at work and got home just on dark. Raining all day today -hooray!! - desperately need the rain. Just did 45mins of windtrainer -boring as...
Driske, I'm hard pressed to remember what made Mick Dundee fart but think you may be right.
Apparently the big fellas are good tucker but I've never tried them. Scary buggers they are. That fella I saw yesterday would measure from my neck to my toes in length.
I'm not likely to ever catch one, they run very quickly and can scale 10 metres up a tree in seconds.
