Knee pain for a month, where to go? Need to get this fixed

That seems like a pretty general response copy and pasted. OP said he wants to go see someone. I don't think self stretching is going to solve his problem at this point. OP don't do surgeon just therapist. Hopefully they don't just look at you for the money. I think that stuff is expensive but they should be able to fix you

well im going to PT on monday. everytime i feel this might be going away i am reminded something is still wrong. clearly time off isnt going to help since 6 weeks is a substantial amount of time. when i try to rest of the weekends and dont walk around much or have to go down stairs i dont feel it at all really.

recently though, like last couple days, ive been feeling something else. its on the outside of my leg, at the same level as the knee. im assuming this is something with my IT band. its what i felt last year when I ran with ITBS. the same area just aches when i am standing up in the same position for a while. it isnt really pain. and it doesnt hurt when i jog, but im sure this is a related problem to my knee. if not then it looks like i have 2 problems now. im wondering if its an imbalance or weakness on my side.

the knee thing gets irritated when i walk down stairs. i went down a lot of stairs today and prior to doing that didnt really feel it. but while going down stairs i felt it. there is pain directly below and above/on the kneecap but i cant touch it. its like its within if that is possible.

now im concerned about the outside area of my leg. not because it hurts but because it just feels "heavier" than my normal other side leg which has no problems. idk if some of this is in my head but clearly it shouldnt start dully aching when i am just standing on my feet.

I started PT few days ago. I have both IT band syndrome and patella femoral syndrome in the leg. Neither is severe. The knee is lessening in pain unless I have to take stairs. It band ache lingers when I sit. PT has me doing exercises. I don't need a surgeon or any scans. Thanks for all the help.

How long do you think until I can run again no pain? Any wild guesses? PR said once I get stronger i can start jogging but she doesn't want to say when I'll be pain free running since she doesn't want to be wrong. Neither problem is severe but they have been present for a long time. I think we are working on correcting my form next week as that's a root cause that triggers my problems. These sessions are going to add up big luckily my father is supportive and doesn't mind.

Any estimates how many weeks it'll be for me guys?
