You ARE a Lance Supporter? Well so is this, I'm just sayin':
Lance was the greatest cyclist of his era, as all of the riders were using PEDs. The greatest cyclist ever has to be Merckx, he won all of the Classics as well as the TDF five times.
Eddy Merckx was the greatest TdF rider ever.
OP, i suggest you educate yourself better before forming an opinion. Have a read up on Paul Kimmage, the guy has called everything right so far.

well, it pisses me off... most of the tour riders(Drug traffic industry)the get off the hook. I never like it when one individual takes most the heat.
Drugs drugs...it's everywhere, weight lifting, Football, baseball, T&F (mostly Jamaica and Africa), Cycling, UFC, Tennis (William sisters), Golf (Tiger) etc etc....sadly even HS sports.
I wouldn't be surprised if our Government was behind it all!

1. This claim alone disqualifies your entire post, particularly the part in parenthesis. Drugs aside, maybe you could have claimed greatest Tour cyclist ever, but anyone who really follows cycling does not consider Lance the greatest.
2. He was not clean in 2009.
3. LIESTRONG - based on a fraud. The "non-profit" did more to line Lance's pocket than it ever did to help find a cure for cancer.
4. PED use likely caused his cancer, more PED use allowed him to become the greatest fraud in sporting history.
5. Hilarious. None of the others tried to ruin anyone who spoke out against doping or dared to speak the truth. Lance has a life-time ban because he didn't cooperate.

I think the one thing that everyone in cycling who hung lance out to dry forgets is that lance made cycling something that millions of people actually heard of and even watched. All the lying and drugs in the world won't change the fact that he brought cycling national attention in the US, probably more attention outside the US too. How many non-runners know of Meb? Nobody. How many americans followed the tour and cycle for years because of Lance? Many.
Many in cycling benefitted from the ride that Lance gave them. And I am guessing that 98% of them are no better than lance morally - they were just presented with different circumstance.
Rojo, what is your problem? You write at such a low level it is phenomenal. All I'm going to address is your last point, the "most laughable" according to you. You say that Lance's teammates didn't attack friends/employees who told the truth, sue people, etc....How Could They Do This??? Nobody attempted to tell the truth about them, so they had nobody to attack. Please at least think a bit about what you are going to say before you do, this argument was so flawed. Also, I want to point out that you are the prime example of somebody who loves to see heroes fail. How could somebody possibly gain as much joy as you are from Lance's failures? There's something to be said about that. You need to look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself why you taking so much pleasure in another man's nightmare. Show some respect. You pretend that Letsrun is a legitimate and reasonable site, start playing the part. Please.
rojo is giving his opinion, just like you. Lance does have to pay back a lot of $ for his lies and threats, you can't overlook his bad points.
If you are serious, please take a moment or two and convince me Lance was better than Eddy Merckx. I was very "in" to the whole Lance phenomenon while he moved up on winning five tours and then won six. But I began to lose interest in him when it became apparent he really wasn't going to do anything else but try to win tours. I thought he certainly had the ability to be the best ever, but limited himself by focusing only on tours. Eddy won EVERYTHING. Did Lance ever even ride Paris Roubaix? You say if we don't think Lance is the best we don't know the sport. Please, take some time, support your argument, and convince me he was the best ever.
