Never buy a new car.
It's a waste of time and money, and besides that, you'll get screwed.

You're right. That was one of the best pieces of advice anyone gave me.
If ever you feel ready to buy, I will be here.
This is the first time I've heard about the Dodge Dart.

Ridiculous. Used cars are way overpriced right now so new is probably the better value. Plus there is always the risk of having a major problem with a used. With new, if something big goes wrong, its not out of your pocket.
Finally, if you are not a doormat during negotiation, you won't get screwed.
I don't think it's a terrible idea to buy a new car if you plan to keep it until wheels fall off. You said that you're planning on keeping it for about 7 years and in that case, probably a used car will be a better option.
Regarding Dodge Dart, only thing that I can comment on is the looks since I've never driven it. I thought it looked really nice on commercials, but when I saw the car in person, I didn't think it looked as good. It's the similar feeling I had with the new Ford Focus. I thought it looked good in commercials, but when I saw it in person, I just wasn't impressed with how it looked.
If you're wanting to buy new, I would consider keeping your car for 10 plus years. Then, it'll be justified to buy new. I would consider the all new Fusion. It's low end is probably priced similar to Dart Rally. I think the new Fusion is well-balanced looking car.
Kevin52, First of all I impressed you would come on here and discuss he Dodge Dart. To people who expect the Dart to be a smaller more economical version of the Charger are you saying its not that at all ?
To those of us who have never driven a Fiat what can you share with us that would help us understand the engine or the car ?
I said seven eyars, because I dont know where I will be (job wise) in 7 years-however I would have no problem keeping a car longer.
I have looked at the fusion and of course will drive all types around before finally deciding.
