Actually- I've not been able to get 3 medals, period, but have gotten down to the 6.X. I think to get 3 medals you may have to not only get a fast time, but clear all the hurdles. I found out that with my keyboard, if I just hold the arrow buttons down, and don't jump at all, I can get 6.7 or 6.9 and it gives me 2 medals.

Ok you're right about the medals, but he would not be bent over. I just ran 11.5 with one hurdle down and I got 2 medals and he was standing with both hands in the air. FRAUD.
Actually- really does bend over... I think that because you knock down EVERY hurdle, it sortof confuses the system you get a fast time, but everything else sucked, so you DO bend over and end up with 2 medals.
