OK, some of these posts are close to being accurate. The truth, however, is that Nicole was born in Okinawa, but moved when she was 8 months old to Wainwright, Alaska. She attended the Alak School until age 11. Then her family moved to Yorba Linda, CA. There, she was briefly coached by a distant cousin of Prefontaine, but only for three weeks. At that point, she turned down an over from Brooks to turn pro, left her family, and turned up in Enid, OK.
There, after a long struggle with drugs and prostitution, she turned to Islam. At that point, she moved to Danville, VA, where she resumed her running career under the name Kendra Douglas. Inspired by a similarly named coach, Nicole won district titles and placed 4th at state, but only after a brief fling as a pole vaulter and synchro swimmer.
This fall, Nicole will attend Central Florida.

I understand that most of the people on this thread are joking. But the truth is that Nicole moved from Colonie, NY to Saratoga Springs, NY where she stayed until her father got a job offer in Semi Valley, CA. She left winter of her senior year.
It was the saddest day of my life.
Nicole is my cousin and was born in French Lick, Indiana, in the shadow of Bird. She commuted to school in New York until 2000 when she moved to Simi Valley, CA. We are proud of her and can't wait for her to tear it up as a coach at Stanford.
