You mean rural folks don't work? They are busy working in their farms. Most of these Athletes own farms and businesses. Their parents probably own huge farms too. Kalenjins do alot of farming and own huge farms.

Kenya is the biggest exporter of horticulture to the European Union. Fruits, vegetables, flowers etc.
Plus most of Kenyas corn which is our staple crop is grown in the riftvalley where kalenjins come from.
You don't have to be in the city to be counted employed or don't count farmers as unemployed.
