Sure it's student film, but last time I checked college students were supposed to be held to a pretty high standard in their majors. And The Real Maine was average at best, even for student cinematography.

Don't support it then, you don't have to. But why are you so angry? Obviously you were interested enough to watch in the first place...had a hard-on for some running doc, and then got blueballed when you didn't like it...no need to be so hateful.

The film was whatever. I am happy they tried and I hope they make more running films. I think the real question is who really wants to buy a poster of these guys? I just think it would look really unusual hanging up in anyone's house or room except specifically the guys in the documentary. I hope he gets the money he needs, but I don't know if selling an obscure poster is the best way to do it.

I wouldn't mind donating but don't want my name on the back of the poster or need the poster. Can you just donate if you want?

Making films is mad expensive. Depends a lot on what type of film and equipment you shoot with and whether travel or paying actors is involved. I have a friend whose senior thesis cost ~$5000 total. Higher quality film, editing, etc. than The Real Maine and the fact that it was a fictional film required actors instead of just filming himself, but the costs are there regardless.

It's true this film really has no story if I didn't know what the premise was beforehand I would have had no idea what was going on. It's really just a random mix of semi-related interviews and pretty cool artistic shots. I have no idea what the experience of living and training together was like though.

Too late. The fact that the best run website about running in the world is run by two guys who can't spell and have to resort to millions of ads to keep their site up (not that I really believe that) is a pretty good indicator that the sport is already in the shitter.

A fictional film? Crap. If I had known that beforehand, I would have not donated. I truly thought it was about a REAL person/s. I'm a realist, not a Hollywood dreamer. Thanks Rojo for promoting this....rolls eyes.

i agree it was a bit of letdown. i learned and enjoyed more the outtakes (or extra scenes) from the film than the film itself. i didnt hate the movie, but i was hoping for more insight into their lives. if he/they were to make another, i would certainly watch it because i think the potential is there.
