Wrong! Goucher beat Lagat in an epic 3k at NCAA Indoor in 1998. He might have another NCAA title, I'm not sure.

Effective video - made me curious about the elliptigo enough to go their website to see how much they cost ($1799 - $3499 depending on the model)
Only a matter of time before there will be elliptigo races!

Goucher has 4 NCAA titles. 2 x Indoor 3k, 1 Outdoor 5k and the NCAA cross title.
What shoes are Shalane running in?
why is it sad? He had a career now he is retired from the sport...99.9 percent of the posters here on letsrun, couldn't keep up with his wife either...
I love it, but man is our sport the most boringest ever. Videos of dudes riding Epiptogos handing water to two women jogging in a barren wasteland are popular.
That was twelve years ago. Meb won 4 NCAA titles in one year and has a oly silver medal. Lagat has world titles. To say Adam would have exceeded them is crazy. Goucher didn't have the body or the right mind set to hold up to the training. It is sad when people say well if such and such didn't have that injury. Having durability is part of the game ask Brian Sell.

I have a lot of respect for Adam Goucher. He is obviously very supportive of his wife's running when he could sit around being jealous. At least he admits he overtrained.
more like gave up
he did not have
a career ending injury
I have had worse injuries have never given up and I don't have anywhere his talent.
People like Adam Goucher make me sick. All the talent in the world and then just gave up once it got hard.
remember once you stop fighting you start dying
words to train by and live by
Weak troll. At Goucher's age and with his history of injury he didn't "give up" - he stopped just reinjuring himself for no good reason.
Anyhow, he didn't "give up" - he "grew up." He's moving gracefully into the next stage of his life where he's no longer a competitive runner. There's nothing wrong with that. There's more to the world than running.
Is he a stay at home dad now?
fyi, the elliptigo is an amazing cross-training device. I actually have way better places to ride (around mt tam in marin). just lets you exercise hard back to back more times and is really fun. I think 9 olympic trial athletes used the elliptigo, all made the finals and 3 are going to the olympics...

That was one of the most boring videos I have ever seen, and that is saying a lot.
