Calm down Duck and go find out what happened to your boy AJ. You come off as the expert so why are you asking a bunch of anonymous people on letsrun? You're a foul mouthed phony.
The fact is that Rupp is an insanely talented runner. He's also a poor sport to certain rival OTC members. Why is that a suprise? Anyone who knows a few people in the biz know of the rivalry between Alberto and Jerry. Stop acting so
pompous.
I may be foul mouthed on occasion, because some of you aholes earn it on this board...and you know it...but I am not a phony.
I suggest you do a little reading of history.
Oh screw it, I'll do your homework for you you little tweak, DUH:
++SALAZAR RECRUITED AND HIRED JERRY++

By all indications, Alberto Salazar has appointed a successor to his position as head of the Nike Oregon Project. On June 18, The Capital Times of Madison, WI reported that University of Wisconsin distance running coach Jerry Schumacher was leaving the university to become a coach at the Oregon Project.
In the past year, Salazar has experienced serious health problems. A heart attack on June 30, 2007 was nearly fatal, and surgeons have since implanted a defibrillator in his chest. Salazar has acknowledged that he will need to gradually cut back on his coaching load. He currently coaches Nike Oregon Project athletes Galen Rupp, Adam Goucher, Kara Goucher, Josh Rohatinsky and Amy Begley.
When he arrives at Nike's Beaverton offices this autumn, Schumacher will be bringing several elite distance runners he coaches along for the ride, including Chris Solinsky, Simon Bairu and Matt Tegenkamp. With the possible addition of Joaquin Chapa and Arianna Lambie to the group, the Oregon Project will reach its full complement of 10-12 runners competing at distances from 5000 meters, 10,000 meters and the marathon. Each runner will be part of a group coached by Salazar or Schumacher.
No matter what might happen with his health and his gradually diminishing role in the Oregon Project, Salazar wants to ensure that his athletes are well taken care of. As Salazar told the Eugene Register-Guard newspaper, “I’m looking to the future. . . I have life insurance for my family, and now, with Jerry coming to Portland, I have coach insurance for Galen.”

Now, is that clear enough for you?
Salazar hand picked and plucked a top coach, Jerry, from college, and gave him a great support system, a huge bump in pay and a good deal all the way around.
They are professionals and they get along fine and they both do a great job.
