I think the rise of BAC level all depends on the manner of consumption. In most places, people imbibe through their mouths, so the liver acts to filter and process the alcohol.
In Tennessee fraternities, people imbibe via another orifice, with the assistance of an enema device, a method which bypasses the liver and allows for direct absorption.
