Here's how I see it.
In the Little League divisions in baseball, when I was 13 I couldn't play on a team with the division of the 9 year olds.
LL has it's stuff together.
While the differences get less between an 18 year old and a 25 year old...There are still real differences.
Looked at another way. When I was a Soph in college, I would have felt no success defeating a Senior in High School.
The NCAA needs to get this stuff right and it also needs to understand that in Olympic sports training older athletes from other countries purely so that coaches in dying sports can gain security for their meaningless to most of societies careers...truly does a disservice to the American tax payers and the development program effect of the NCAA on Olympic Sports.
The thing is, the NCAA can lie with their statistics to talk about how little money they really make when all is said and done and all the women's sports and niche sports are funded etc. But what they don't talk about is how much of that not profit to the bottom line funds that pays so many coaches and administrators etc...is not too transparent about who is getting paid way too much.
