Just watched the finish.video on YouTube and boy was that wind HOWLING! Also her form looks flawless. Catch the clip on thedailybronxville. She doesn't look like Shes kicking because it's so fluid.

Pretty impressive. Obviously very windy and still gets after it in the front and runs a 2:03 low. In six weeks I could definitely see her getting in a fast race and challenging the HSR. Her (former) coach last year said that he thought she was going to break 2 minutes this year...
Just read an article that she was very sick earlier this week, and didn't go after a 1500m on Tuesday because of it. She can definitely go faster with better conditions, better competition, and more training under the belt.

Great form. Awesome running.
For those wishing to see her in full flight, here's her anchor leg in last year's national championship 4 X 8: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=jgRe5Lar4Nk#t=6m40s
College coaches take notice? They do, always. So what? If Oregon, Stanford or Tennessee does not want "BADBOY" Mary Cain, maybe she does not want them. There is Columbia (Kyle Merber), Cornell (Morgan Uceny) and MIT (competes against DI,2,3. One of the best college coaches in the country there, and with great facilities.) Not bad academics, too --at all three. At any one of these, MC would be allowed to run open also. When Uceny was in high school, she spurned colleges offering track scholarships with strings attached.
All of this stuff is thoroughly discussed between college athletic departments and prospective track athletes and parents, usually before a visit to campus.
Let's be serious. If this kid continues to progress the way she has been, colleges are going to be falling over themselves to get her. These reports that she is so demanding are overexaggerated. She contributed yesterday to Bronxville's Class C Westchester County championship with a win in the 3000.
What was the time for 2nd place? She wasn't that far behind.
Cain just cruised to win easily and score points. She's definitely capable of 9:20 if she gets in a fast race with the likes of Pierce, Seidel, Baxter and co
I think it's funny that people criticize Cain for wanting to get into bigger, faster individual races so she can break records and make the Olympic Trials. But you don't see nearly as much criticism for elite HS runners like Wesley Frazier who don't even compete for their school teams. At least Mary scores for her school at conference, state, etc'
I totally respect Ms. Frazier and her goals as well, but it is just dumb that Cain is getting so much unnecessary criticism over this.
The only thing I'll predict is Mary Cain will go to Oregon in a couple of Years .OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I would say there is zero chance of that. There is a very high liklihood she will attend Princeton, with Stamford a distant 2nd.
Mary's time in the 3000 yesterday was 9:53.15. Second place was 10:49.39.
We shall she i think she is OREGON BOUND BUT HOW THE FREAK KNOWS?
Oregon? The chance of that is next to zero (if not exactly zero) -- even if Lananna offers Cain the sun, moon and stars. I just think she wants nothing to do with that school or with Vin Lananna. Better chance she becomes an Engineer at MIT than a Duck....MIT: Program of the Year by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The Bronxville program is a feeder system for the Ivy League...particularly Princeton (Mullen sisters, Henrietta Miers) but others as well (Olivia Bruton to Dartmouth, Victoria Flannery and Caitlin Hudson to Yale, Emma Clarke to Cornell) to name a few. Ivy League in Mary Cain's future.
yes the Bronxville girls usually go to the Ivies but these girls were coached by Mitchell and Cain made a decision based on her running future/present. Cain doesn't even have to get better to go to an Ivy. It seems that she is interested in being the best runner she can be-- and soon. Personally I think the Ivies have been showing that you can have the best of both
She'd do well at Dartmouth. Their women's program is slowly becoming the best in the Ivy League and has a great recruiting class. Coogan seems to really develop his athletes and I think Cain would do better there than at Princeton, Cornell, Columbia, etc.
Yes, Dartmouth too. Great school; great school for MC. Live Free or Die.
