Im not sure about Mudd's training, but I know that Fleet was routinely doing 80+ mpw in high school. Maybe thats why hes injured so often. However, once Mudd ran his fast mile (4:02-3?) at his state meet, he was definitely well-known. his time of like 4:01 at the dream mile only solidified that. so it isn't a total surprise that after a year, hes pred in the 15 by 6 seconds.

Did not run XC in the fall (officially) and probably would not have made the top 7, especially at 10,000. Another year of college training and then he might be one of those guys with wide ranges. However, there are probably not too many 1:47 guys running XC.

The kid ran 4:05 for 1600m at a dual meet on 4/26 (2nd place was 4:35). He ran 1:49.45 two days later. Good things to come.
okay so what all of you are saying is that. since rupp is good and everyone knows he is good. no one should praise rupp or make future predictions about him.. okay that makes sense.. no!!!! and actually i follow the boards often.. and i don't recal people praising mudd all the time. and talking about him being a future olympic medalist like myself.. you all are more worried about trying to find someone to argue with then actually making sense

I really expected Mudd to blow up this year once he got to Wisco, but he really underperformed indoors. But he didn't really start turning it on until late in the season last year and it looks to be the same thing again. But next year he needs to have an indoor peak as well to help Mick out.
I am thinking that he will be in the hunt for the 1500. His races at Big10 and regionals will tell the tale.

He ran a 49.49 yesterday along with a ~49 in a mid-D 4x400/3:81. I suppose working on a little speed for the Big Ten meet.
