Everyone was HI in the 60s/70s, so we were a lot more creative. Amazing the things you can do on LSD.

Oct 6, 1966 LSD becomes illegal in California. Oct 24, 1968 Possession of LSD is banned federally in the U.S. after the passage of the Staggers-Dodd Bill (Public Law 90-639) which amended the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. Oct 27, 1970 The Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act is passed. Part II of this is the Controlled Substance Act (CSA) which defines a scheduling system for drugs. It places most of the known hallucinogens (LSD, psilocybin, psilocin, mescaline, peyote, cannabis, & MDA) in Schedule I. It places coca, cocaine and injectable methamphetamine in Schedule II. Other amphetamines and stimulants, including non-injectable methamphetamine are placed in Schedule IIIBTW Taking LSD is not the same as "getting high" in my view. Plus Delysid trips are quantified dosage LSD tripsStreet trips might be LSD trips and dosage information is suspect 100% of the time.

Yeah, no one does that anymore. Musicians today are just as creative as musicians in the 60s and 70s. If you can't see it, you're not looking.
Music has always sucked. It is a useless homo pursuit.
For Me:
90 Mostly because that was the stuff I grew up listening to
60 Beatles, Sam Cooke, Dylan, The Who, Hendrix, Rolling Stones etc... Great Stuff!
70
80 I think there is a lot of good music in the 80s but you have to weed out all the $hit from Def Leppard and such.

00 This last decade sucked. It seems to be getting a little better though.
I'll approach this from the funky side of life... and in split decades because it makes more sense.
85-95 - The golden era of hip hop
65-75 - The birth and perfection of raw funk
95-05 - Some great indie hip hop and some new school funk bands
05+ - Some great funk influences all over the place
75-85 - Disco killed the funk. Early hip hop was kinda cheesy.
Pre 65 - Elvis can suck it
Can we choose decade by just a span of 10 years?
If so, 1965-1975
I almost said 64-74 but Physical Graffiti was 75 so I had to out the earlier Beatles shizz
