Sorry, I just checked - Newport is sold out. Must have just happened - it wasn't sold out last week.
Good option for 2013?

I just checked out the Poconos website. Is the course as downhill as it appears on the elevation chart?

Yeah. It's a screamer. One of those where you can have your best day or worst day depending on how smart you run your race.
I'm also dubious of the elevation graphs on web sites. I used this website where at least the elevation graphs they have are the same scale for comparison. The scale still makes mountains out of mole hills though since they are still so compressed.
http://www.findmymarathon.com/location.phpHaving run The Ave half but being very familiar with the course and Eugene's course I'd say don't bother considering it instead of Eugene. Faster field, faster course, better chance of better weather, easier logistics, better pre- and post-race opportunities.
Interesting thread - some races I had never heard of, but I am intrigued!
Any news from the Canucks on the new Vancouver course?
Surprised no one mentioned New Jersey, which I'm running. It's a flat course. I guess wind could be an issue being close to the ocean, but it's out and back, so you'd benefit the other way. Any thoughts?

NJ is really flat and the new course is much improved. But the two times I ran, it was hot.

I have friends in Vancouver who say it's much better than the old course (faster and more scenic). A lot of it is near the water, and you also get to run on the Sea Wall which is AMAZING. BUT, it's in Vancouver which means rain is likely.
