That I do not know.

Alan was on the second lane for most the race, and right between 400-450, he tripped while trying to go on the inside lane. He immediately got up and walked it off. No yelling or anything. Seemed to be fine, just a bit disappointed. He was looking VERY smooth. I'm willing to bet he would have gone sub 1:50.
Why didn't he go for the 1000m the next day?
my guess is alan webb pulled his groin...or perhaps had bad diarrhea and needed a compression sock handy to unload...

Alan Webb is getting into some GF_quality drama here.
There is going to be a lot of tension in the Vig/Webb camp.. both these guys are at the end of their ropes: Vig has no job and Webb is on his final contract.
Compare that to the fun that Salazar and Rupp are having chasing ARs and you sort've feel for them.
I keep going back to Webb's impressive 800 in 2007 where he ran 1:43 and out muscled Gary Reed to win. I also think he hurt his hamstring in that race. He has never run the same since.

Well, I haven't seen any tape yet, and don't have enough information to decide...but let's hope that this event doesn't herald the emergence of the new runner Webbkrap.
We in America may actually be present during the emergence of a new running species: "...krap".
I will not judge this individual until I have more information.
He went down in an 800, and didn't continue to race? I thought this was Alan Webb, the US record-holder in the mile, and middle-distance phenomenon?

What can I say?
Go Rupp (for now).
Rupp? How about Hall, Meb, Lagat, Teg, Sol?

Hall/Meb are different competition. Solinscratch has barely finished a race since high school. And Lagat and Teg ARE Rupp's competition.

Webb only ran 200 meters of the race. He came across the line of his first lap way back in the pack, no where near the Williams or even the top collegian, grabbed the side of his right leg and stopped. He walked over to Vig, walked off the track, walked around in the back area for a couple of minutes, and then he and Vig left together. Not to be seen again at the meet. Webb's dad was there too and looked rather concerned.
I'm sure I'll regret asking this, but does anyone actually know why?
apparently if webb doesn't make himself look foolish the girls who run this website aren't interested in actual "reporting" of what happened or what might be happening with webb

Why does he keep tripping on the ground.

This could very well be the end of the end.
Webb should go back to either Razcko or Salazar.
Advantages of Razcko were that he got him to the AR in the Mile and a 1:43 800m.
Advantages of Salazar were that Salazar has so much technology to help him cure his injuries and train while injured etc, and he was getting him to some good results after being out of it for 2 years.
In fact, Webb said that the only reason he left Salazar was because he wanted to train with a more middle-distanced oriented group and Salazar didn't have middle distanced athletes. However, Webb still said he'd get some advice from Salazar.
However, now things are different. Now Centrowitz, arguably the top Miler in the US right now, is training with Salazar, and probably more middle distance athletes to follow. Webb left because only one thing was lacking (middle distance partners) and now he would have that so he should go back, get his injuries under control, and train with Centrowitz. He wouldn't have left in the first place if he knew more milers would join Salazar so now he has what he wants.

No, I think Salazar kicked him out, because Webb was being disrespectful. Salazar's was the best type of training for Webb but he couldn't hack it mentally (insecure wimp).
In any case, I'm pretty sure Salazar won't have anything to do with Webb ever again.

Maybe that's what happened behind the scenes, but that's certainly not what was reported. Both of them separately said they left on very good terms and will still keep up communication etc. It SEEMED like they weren't completely done with each other
