Dan graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1997, meaning he started in 1993, and has been an officer ever since. That gives him 18 years in the Army by my count. If your handle is accurate, he outranks you. As I'm sure you know, there is a wide variety of jobs in the Army, including WCAP, and as far as I've ever heard, Dan has fulfilled the obligations of a position that the Army believes is valuable ever since he entered the Academy. If you think he's not hard enough to be infantry, or Rangers, or whatever job you think would make him a "real" officer, it's time to get over yourself.
