Could the Iranian Navy take out the US Navy?

obama knows the u.s. is at it's limit with jobs, the economy, lost wars in iraq, afghanistan, yemen, and lebanon, lost ally in egypt and pakistan.

obama has no choice but settle the main conflict with iran by ending the occupation of palestin.

obama must establish a single unified state of palestine under an interim government guided by the U.S. Bill of Rights and Constitution.

obmama must ensure the repatriation of millions of palestinian political prisoners, refugees and exiles.

obama must protect the current populations of palestine and israel.

China and Russia object to US sanctions against Iran and continue to buy oil and freely trade with Iran. China and Russia have covertly traded nuclear and weapons technology with Iran. China and Russia have intelligence operations in Israel, United States, Europe, and Japan. China and Russia will continue to ignore UN trade embargos targeted against Iran.

The intriguing question is, could ONE U.S. aircraft carrier defeat the entire Iranian navy? Now that could be an interesting matchup.

At issue bewteen Iran and the United States is the re-integration of millions of Palestine Semitics and Palestine Caucasians back into U.S. Occupied Palestine and the establishment of full suffrage, human and civil rights for all.

I'm sure that if negotiations were to commence, Iran and the United States can come to an amicable agreement and a peace treaty could be approved and signed by Presidents Obama and Ahmedenedjad.

Islam is winning the land war against the U.S. on dozens of fronts.

Islam is fighting a grass roots guerilla war with technical assistance and training from Iran's Quds Force.

Islam does not have the technology to win in direct warfare with the U.S.

The US has intelligence operations in China, Russia, Israel, Europe and Japan. Not sure of your point there? China and Russia would not be able to ignore UN action if Iranian naval forces limited freedom of navigation. I would put one as a no vote and the other as an abstain. Possibly two abstain. They could not back away from their position of support for Iran but couldn't condone Iran's actions. China and Russia do not depend on Iranian oil or trade.

50%+ of the people in the Navy are GAY. (80% on Submarines, think about it..) Do not join the Navy unless you feel like doing the ritual of Poseidon!

I agree, Islam is winning the land war on about every front. That is because the US is fighting a limited engagement. Islam is not. We have shown restraint in every military matter hoping it would gain respect from the Islam nations and people. This hasn't happened.

Three words: Operation Preying Mantis.

Everybody likes to think the US military is washed up because they were "defeated" in Iraq and Afghanistan. But running around trying to shoot the bad hadjis without killing any nice ones, or trying to keep the hadjis from killing each other, is a far cry from all out, pure muscle, warfare.

There's no collateral damage to worry about in the straight of Hormuz, just Iranian targets. One carrier battle group wipes the Iranian Navy out of existence in a matter of hours. And aside from nuking us, which they absolutely would not do just to protect Iran, there isn't a damn thing China or Russia could do about it.

Like they say the US empire is like the old British empire, "an empire of fish and water not valleys, town, farms, rivers, mountains, lakes and humans". The US Navy can easily wipe out any navy. The US can't win a land war since it fights like girls, pitter-patter, with drones, helos, stealth planes, and smart bombs. The US won't fight man to man. China (Ghehghis Khan) once conquered Iran, northern part of the Middle East, India, Russia, Poland, Turkey, half of Germany, Baltic states. China did it did by slaughtering every enemy boy and man then rebuilt the gene pool with it's soldiers. The only way the US empire can beat Iran and the half-white/half-African semitic Arabs is do the same. That's not likely so the US should just get the f u c k out and let Iran manage their empire their way. They have to sell the oil on the open market anyways so we can still drive our Hummers.

Face it. Short of killing civilians en masse, a traditional army using conventional tactics can't win in a prolonged irregular war. Especially with a hostile or ambivalent population to deal with.

Get over it. Overwhelming firepower didn't save South Vietnam and the only thing that saved us in Iraq was the "Sunni Awakening." Ask the Soviets how a no holds barred approach worked in Afghanistan too.

And, lets say we get rid of the restrictions you speak of. Oh wait! It only turns the populace against us and keeps the conflict going.

I mean, seriously. What a bunch of idiots. It's these "overwhelming force" morons who got us in Iraq and Vietnam to begin with. The troops will be home for Christmas! Put up a "Mission Accomplished" banner on an aircraft carrier folks! I've watched "Patton," and I'm sure what worked in 1945 is sure to work today!

If the Iranians want to block shipping lanes, they can't do it with their naval vessels. The USA could sink them all in a day.

What they need instead is a bunch of oil tankers. No one is going to purposefully sink oil tankers.

Nanotechnology is just around the corner. Iran is and will continue to be supported by China and Russia. Really doesn't matter whether it's Iran, China, or Russia or all three. The fact is we will be attacked, and for all intents and purposes, paralyzed.
