To Neliah2507:
I would hugely hugely hugely appreciate it if you could respond to this message with advice. I appreciate your posts and have been trying to seeka response from you or others who know about labrum tears and FAI and how they can cause referred issues. My email is

So here is my little tale of pain and discomfort:
In the fall of 2011 I weighed 250 lbs at a height of 5'9. I was out of shape to say the least. I started running and doing P90x/Insantiy videos to lose weight and get in shape. Boy did it work!! I lost 72 lbs in about a year's time and was on top of the world. I got addicted to fitness and felt wonderful.
On September 1st 2013 I began to feel tightness in upper hamstring right below the right buttock. Two days later it moved into the groin/upper inner thigh/adductor area. It can be described as a truly severe tightness while at rest and dull pain that HAS NOT GONE AWAY in 11 months!! September 14th 2013 my right testicle began to ache and two days later my lower abdomen began to feel tight and painful. This has ALSO not resolved in 11 months. I fel the two must be related since they started almost at the same time and have both been so chronic and constant in nature
I have seen every single doc in the San Francisco Bay area it seems and FINALLY they found Cam and Pincer impingement on both hips (right side more severe) and a severe labrum tear on the right side. An orthopedic surgeon wants to go in and fix the impingement and do what he can with the labrum even though it is pretty much un-reparable he says by looking at the MRI arthogram.
Another sports doc thinks i should just strengthen my core and adductors to battle the discomfort. This has not worked after two weeks at all and in fact my leg as we speak is as terribly tight as ever.
So my question is: Do you feel arthoscopic surgery on the right hip could resolve the abdominal/adductor discomfort that has literally ruined my life? Could they be related?? Nobody can give me a straight answer about whether the FAI/labrum tear are the epicenter of my issues or not. I have even had a colonoscopy to see if the abdominal stuff is an intestinal issue. It is not of course ;)
Please help!
Thanks so much to you all for reading.
