Hey 1500M: How great to meet the great J. Walker! I still get excited watching his races from way back with his aggressive bold racing. The 1500 gold medal in the Olympics is a good one.

Everyone posting did great in their Thanksgiving races, my humble congratulations.

I really suprised myself with my 5k performance... it was so slow! Now I'm motivated to train the endurance runs a little harder, so maybe that's good.

You're pulling up stakes and moving on to better climes from the sound of it.I can't say I begrudge you the opportunity to duck the weather here in WI. Most of my kin split for the desert SW decades ago. A few of us stuck around to complain about economy and all, but I don't see much changing for the better.

Ran the FFTT in GB Thursday. The kids' friends all say I look like Red Green. So I dressed like him and ran 34:12 for the 5 mile.

An easy 58 miles this week and no Turkey Trot racing. The local TT here is up to around 1200 for a 5k. Since I am a lot farther back in the pack nowadays it is not the fun that it used to be.

From the years of training for a fall marathon or with a group that was running a fall marathon, this time of year is hard to stay motivated. Even though I haven't run a marathon in six years, I have little trouble running 70-80 mile weeks through October. Then for two months I have the mental letdown and although I run everyday(streak runner) it is difficult to keep the mileage up. I am able to come back in January recharged which is good but in my fifties now I seem to gain a few pounds. If I gain 10 in two months it takes four months to loose it.

About 66 miles this week, with one "serious" workout (VO2 max and faster stuff) and one set of 150m with my daughter (who can easily beat me in those).

Two long(er) runs - 11 miles on Thanksgiving and about 15 today. No problems with my foot until today - both on the run and a bit during yard work.

Two more weeks until nationals and I'd wonder why I'm going except I haven't missed any since not going to Alabama in 2001 and we have a 50s team.
