Oooh, I am so tired that I can hardly remember what I ran this week! ;-D
Oh yeah, I did a workout "with" (or more accurately near and at the same time as) two of my teammates. Since I turned my ankle again last week, I ran it on the track (both clockwise and counterclockwise) as they ran on the grass around me. It was a good workout and it was nice to have the virtual training partners.
On Saturday, I flew to Denver with my daughters for Oireachtas. Since I need to concentrate on their needs before the competition, my running took a back seat. Fortunately, the weather was nice there (actually in the 60s on Saturday), but I had to run on the Cherry Creek bike trail both times. It's nice for a bike trail, running along the creek, but actually not that scenic as it's below street level and has steep concrete sides. Running late in the afternoon, by myself, it was a bit unnerving so pass so many people just "hanging out" down there - especially since it felt so isolated. My body did NOT like the concrete at all and I barely slept that night.
Still, I was happy to get out and run at all as the competitions lasted from 7 am to about 4 and the awards took until 10 pm.
(I did log a 4:30 am run to get the car this morning - with Denver's parking situation, I wound up parking about 3/4 mile away - really nothing, except at that hour, it was pretty creepy being out there alone. I ran with my cell phone to be safe, but momentarily panicked when I couldn't find the right lot and was feeling very vulnerable. Fortunately, I righted myself and made it back just fine.)
Both travel days we had to arise at 4:15 am and on competition day we slept in until 5:45, so I am just zonked. Just about to head on my run now, but who knows how that will go. At least I was doing better than the girls - one had to take a math test this afternoon and the other was back at college for classes!
Looking forward to another run with the teammates this week and perhaps a time trial workout during the weekend. Great job, ty, on Mack's race - that's quite a blowout for WA (again).
