      • Would make sense if he took over from Meaders at UNC, if Meaders is retiring. Its where they both went to school, and they worked together at FSU before.

      • Althea Thomas was just hired last summer. She did outstanding job with what she inherited. Ken probably just too much ego for the Mad Greek. They lost the title in a lot of places. Like .06 in the 5k or defending long jump champ Hall failing to score or the high jumper struggling to get height jumping out of the Willamette River or any number of spots.

        Erik is one of the most underrated coaches in the game that is not at a national power, give him the resources of some of these other schools and he would kill it. He is a heartbeat away from any SEC Head Job if he wants it. So don't sleep on Erik Jenkins.

        I’m interested in UNC and Duke. What is happening at UNC distance that I have not heard about?

      • Pretty sure UW wouldn't pick Imehls - one of the knocks on Metcalf was that his female teams had problems with disordered eating/weight loss, and Imehls has a number of runners who had/have similar issues.

        Hiring Ihmels would mean just be swapping for a newer version of the same problem.

        Newer Version? Barely. They're like, 2 years apart. They are from the same genre of NCAA coaches. Guys who went to college in the early 90's and who were pretty good runners.

        Would Ihmels leave BSU? Program has been slowly building momentum. If he really is one of the three finalists means he's interviewed and is considering it. Well, UW is more prestigious and they can offer him more $$$. Guessing BSU has limited resources and limited upside.

      • Ihmels was happy to get away from the P5 scene. The only reason to go back would be money. UW would immediately get better if they hired him.
