I guess he will go for both the 5 n the 10k next yr

Doesn't it stand to reason that (if he were capable) he could train for world record fitness AND as a consequence be in championship 10k form?

He's not gonna break 26:30. Not even close. I dunno who would pace him. Unlike Bekele, Farah doesn't know how to make the pace. In Bekeles 10,000m WR I think the pacers only lasted 6 laps and he was on his own after that.

He won't get the WR but I can see him breaking into the top 10 all time list and breaking 26:30. We've yet to see him truly go for a top time instead of simply racing to win so who knows what happens.
He'll have to do massive PEDs to do that. Much more than his usual intake.

He doesn't have the speed to do that
Why would anyone care to take him through? If he can't do it on his own he is unworthy, and incapable of a WR. May the TUEs be with him.

Very few people could take him through the first 5K of the 10,000 record. No one through 6K.
The same thing is puzzling me too. If you were capable of world record shape you'd obviously want to be as close to it as possible to win championships, considering being faster than everyone else is inherent in the definition of "world record." It's not like someone's going to sit and out kick you going WR pace. Does anyone know what, if any, is the difference in approach for these two objectives?

I don't really understand his quote about championship racing being exclusive of fast times.
Oh, you reckon so? In Bekele's race he ran 19 laps on his own did he? What makes you say that? Perhaps it is the enormous hard-on you and the rest of the people here have for Bekele that make you invent legend about Bekele that isn't true.

Mo's problem is his best 3k is too slow (not for me) at 7:32, Komen (Geb and Bekele as well I presume) went through 3k in 7:37 and came home in 5:02. Bekele was even stronger and quicker. So the 5k WR is unlikely, then there is the 10k WR. He is going to need a lot more juice to break that record, and current testing has mostly put a lid on this (epo & blood bags are detectable in large doses) so 10k is unviable with one caveat..........

Not a chance he touches either record.
It is the strong possibility in a medal race of blowing up in the attempt and coming in 8th against knowing that if you are in the lead pack at the bell you are in with a really good shot of outkicking everyone.

Is Salazar going to handle the first 200?

This is a rumor...only a rumor...supposedly, Rupp/Salazar have decided to rabbit farah through 8k in his bid to get the wr. Again, that's just what was going around recently at the Nike Campus.
