Wow, she's gonna obliterate the 3200 and 2 mile records. |

Geez. I think the old record was 908 or something. The USATF age group record is (was) like 937 lol. |

And people laughed at the suggestion (after NTN) that sub 9:50 was in the bag, and that sub 9:40 was in the works. Suckaz. |

I don't think it will be eligible for any record ... oversize track. |

Illegal tracks do not count for records.

How fast can this girl go? SERIOUSLY!? 9:02 indoors for any US female runner right now is filthy... for a 16 year old? Looks like Salazar got her biomechanics he was talking about, straightened out. For anyone thinking Baxter could beat Cain at 2 miles... HA! I mean really. |

Is there a video of the race? |

so if you are al sal what do you do? Do you keep focusing on long term aerobic development or do you say 'this girl could make the national team - let's have her peak for USAs? Fun for all involved but these are tough decisions. 9 flat for 3k is on pace for 15 flat for 5k - and this is January, indoors without being pushed hugely. I think we can officially end the 'what college will she go to' game - she is too good to compete in college. Last yrs NCAA indoor champ race was won in 9:15. She might go to college but she won't compete. |

well actually she was being pushed so drop that point. |

salazar has made it clear that cain will run in college, which is why he is charging her family for coaching (in order to keep her eligibility) |

Not the indoor record, sure (or at least not with an asterisk while leaving up Fairchild's mark for comparison). But it's the fastest 3k regardless of track size, indoors or out, and so it should be considered the overall record (indoor/outdoor). |

She might "run" in college but she isn't going to be tripling and running 4x800s. Her family is moneyed so she need not chase $$ and she can dictate her college terms so why not? |
