It seems that each week there is a decent amount of good race action that doesn't get any English language press. In 2013, we'll hopefully provide you some of the highlights by checking our results databases to find news of note.

There were a few races from last week that we can't find any English language recaps for. Highlights include:

In France, at the 41st Corrida Pedestre Internationale de Houilles, some big names raced at 10k including 2008 Olympic 10k bronze medallist Micah Kogo and 12:52 5ker Edwin Soi. The winner however was Ethiopian teen Berhanu Legesse who just edged Kogo. Legesee is a new-comer who finished 2nd to Hagos Gebrhiwet at the CBE Great Ethiopian Run (http://www.iaaf.org/news/report/gebrhiwet-and-kebede-take-addis-ababa-10-k-wi).

Below is another race, we'll try to feature on the HP tmw.

In NH, the Millennium Mile was held on January 1, 2013 in Londonderry.

From an email we got from race organizers:

There were a record 1428 runners, and the winning time was 4:07. You can find the results (and pictures will be up soon) at millenniumrunning.com/millenniummile. The top two guys were Congolese refugees who attended high school in NH, while the third finisher was Aaron Yoder, coach of Bethany College in Kansas. He was attempting to break 4 minutes, went through the half in 1:55 and faded badly in the last quarter. It's a downhill course (80 feet elevation loss), straightish course with a tailwind yesterday, about 25 degrees or so.
The Union Leader newspaper also has an article linked from the race webpage: http://www.unionleader.com/article/20130101/SPORTS10/130109975/1003/sports
