Im a college guy gettin ready for this xc season. Im pretty decent at cross even though I am an 8/15 kind of guy. Our coach really isnt specific with mileage and leaves it all up o you. This is my third 70 mile week in singles. Always had to do two doubles last fall to get this mileage. Im feeling good too. I want to move up to peak 80-85mi weeks. So when is the optimum time to do this. I have a pretty demanding internship right now so its hard to do anymore than 70, but im done in two weeks. |

Now is a good time, up until 3ish weeks before you peak race. That should give you about 2 and half months of great volume. Be careful to take a down week (or a few days) here and there when you are feeling tired. And keep the pace easy and hold back in workouts! |

if you cant double due to this internship then wait the two weeks then start build up to 80s with 2-3 doubles per week. If you can double do next week at 70 w/ doubles then build up. Its funny i am basically in the exact situation right now |
