... Mathew Kisorio at the Kenyan Championships over 10 000 meters is also an anabolic steroid.
[...]
The available evidence suggests that both, as Kisorio Kiyara, due to a flu with the same doctor in Eldoret have been in treatment. "For me this is proof that in Kenya, most athletes and doctors still do not know about the doping provisions," says Brother Colm O'Connell, the Irish 63-year coaching legend, "there is a lack of awareness."

Claudio Berardelli, the coach of Mathew Kisorio Sumgong and Jemima, who has been years in Kenya's Victor Röthlins consultants, are downright shocked: "The fact that an athlete can be treated with the caliber of Kisorio steroids, is inexplicable to me. He has two years worth blocking. "

When Jemima but the case was different. She had been treated before the Boston Marathon in a medical center in Brescia with steroid cortisone at the hip joint. We have received all papers and am now waiting the decision from the IAAF. "If necessary we will take legal action," says Berardelli. The International Association tolerated this year specifically for treatment that is cortisone injections into joints.

The google translation is pretty accurate. Over the last few days, a total positive drug tests for Kenyan runners have come to light: Kisorio for anabolic steroids, Rael Kiyara for Nandrolone, and Jemima Jelagat Sumgong for Cortisol. In addition, Ronald Kipchumba was caught with EPO. In the case of Jemima, there appears to be an innocent explanation, she received cortisol as part of her treatment for a hip injury in Italy.

This was obviously for treating an injury , the endurance athletes don't need steroids, those are for muscle strength, they need ENDURANCE[ EPO,CERA etc.]

Steroids do stimulate red blood cell production. They also help with recovery. Most people thinks of steroids are used by body builders and sprinters, but they also have high beneficial effects for endurance athletes as well. Sprinters also use EPO.

We've seen a WHOLE BUNCH of "amazing" times from Africans this year.

How many sub-12:50's when there hadn't been a single one by anyone other then Kenny B in SIX years?

How many female 3:56's?

How many Russian sub-1:58s--in Russia--from people we never heard of before?

Sensouli--another one bites the dust. How many more to come?

Does it surprise ANYONE here that these are getting caught?

How many months will it take for Jenny and/or Morgan and/or Alysia Montano to get their Olympic medals (after the drug busts)?
You heard it here!

There is no innocent explanation to anything. You are a pro runner and you should know the banned drugs. They should all be banned for life.

I knew the recent flashy times were too good to be true

The marathon has also gotten crazy the last 3-4 years. Of the top 10, all 10 of those times were set in Sept 2008 & later. 7 of the top 10 were set in 2011 & 2012. There is no way that there are that many marathoners that are that much better than the history of marathon running. Look at Haile - even he couldn't keep up with today's marathoners & he was obviously one of the best ever on the track. You are basically going to tell me that right now, there are at least (2) Kenyans who are better than Haile ever was & another 3-4 guys who would be right on his heels - & all this in the last 2 years. I am just not buying it.

Do you buy a 3k in 7.20? How about closing the last 5k of a 10k in 12.55? How about 30 times under 3.30? 9.59 for 100m, showboating the last 15m? What do you attribute the "poor" and significant drop in quality 400m times to?

This is huge, indeed. To be honest, the other names were just "out liers" in my mind who got caught up. If Kisorio's doping allegations are true, this is definitely indicative of what smells like widespread doping amongst Kenyans. Seriously, this is a no-name guy trying out steroids but a big namer with international experience.

That really doesn't mean it is widespread at all. It would mean that all the doping cases are not limited to marginal athletes. Is Kipsorio in a large training group?

The fall out will be interesting. Who knows, maybe the Kenyan dominance is over and some young American/European runners will get a shot at some money.

Keep dreaming, this positives are nothing more than the result of going to doctors who have no clue what can and cannot go into an athletes body.

The responsibility is up to the athletes, not the doctors.
