First, I know that a lot of flaming often occurs when naia running hits the board. I would like to state that it is quite obvious that there is a difference in levels of performance in all the divisions and organizations. This thread is in NO WAY trying to make a comparison to the NCAA or any other organization or division. It is merely trying to create a dialog amongst those that have an interest in running in the NAIA. |

Bryan College brings in a strong class and is always top 10 or close. Wouldn't be surprised to see them back up there between 5-8 by the time the season is done. |

Oklahoma Christian has one more year. This will be their last. NAIA allows schools one year of co-affiliation before they are not included any more. |

Aquinas finished 12th last year and lose 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7. Looks like they have a LOT of work to do to get into the top 10. Know anything about their recruits? Bryan finished 11th last year and lose their #1. Also, Lewis and Clark loses their #3 to a church mission. Do know they have a new guy on the roster from this last spring that went 1:53 in the 800. No idea if he can run cross. |

Southern Oregon will be a dominate team, seems like they've always been a top 5 or better. Shawnee State finished 9th last year returns all 7, and got a lot of hard working talent. Oklahoma Christian losses there front runner, but return a good bit. |

23:15 from an NAIA runner should be enough to give the NAIA some respect. |

Anyone have an idea of what times will make all-American?. It seems like the organization has been on a downward trend. Will this continue? I would like to open the discussion to what the future of the NAIA is overall in 10-20 years? Will we all be in the NCAA by then of will the NCAA just create a division to make room for us. How could the NAIA start bringing schools back? |

Good questions on times. The course was altered SLIGHTLY last year that helped to smooth it out. Biggest issue is condition of course and whether it has been raining or not. Last year with the slow/wet conditions it took under 25 for AA, but in good conditions, likely 24:20 or so would be my guess. I would expect the NAIA to still be around, but unless they find another mechanism to reduce membership costs for nationals, the only schools that remain will be those that are strong in only a sport or two. Those that are currently leaving typically have overall strong programs, so they are spending large amounts to send them all to nationals. Don't ever see naia and ncaa combining. |

Concordia (host school) was looking to be pretty good this year in both men and women, but just heard their coach has left the program. |

Read on another subject line that the coaches at Wayland Baptist and Shawnee State are candidates at Concordia, along with a regional coach and another coach from the midwest. This has to effect the teams where these coaches currently are, doesn't it? Especially so close to the start of the school year. Any idea as to who the other coaches are? When do the preseason polls come out? |
