| How do you do it? |

When people say they are running 4-5 miles a day, are they running this nonstop? When I run more than a mile I really know I have to take it slow or else I will never make it without stopping to walk. So really I am jogging VERY slow. To me, running a 9 minute mile pace isn't really running at all. LOL. How in the heck do you keep a 6.30 or 7 minute mile pace for 4-5 miles. I don't think I ever could do that. Any advice? How much running experience do you need to do this? What are some of your 3-4 mile times. How advanced do you need to be to run 3 miles in 20 minutes? |

it took me a couple months of trying to get up to 5 non stop, a lot of it is mental, its better to do 5 at a slow pace, THEN speed it up |

You need to build yourself up to that and run for fun and not think of it as a workout. You have to make it fun don't worry about your pace and just run. When you get bored or you feel like stopping look ahead and see if theres another runner up ahead and try to catch him and pass him that would motivate you to keep going or just run with random people you see, it would make running seem easier. Don't run at the same place all the time if you cant, go a different direction. If your running on a track if there are steps or a hill CLIMB IT!!!!! You need to keep yourself occupied. If none of this works just build yourself up. I hope you can read this I know some English teaching troll might comment on my grammar. And finally if you have anymore running questions don't ask it on letsrun 80% of them will just troll you ask on a different website like runnersworld or yahoo answers. |

You talk rubbish, I ran 9 miles a couple of days ago in 1h17min NON STOP. I couldn't run either 7 months ago, Keep it up and you'll get there. Don't listen to idiots, Do what you can and push it a little more when you can. |

Slow down. That's it! Don't worry whether you are running 9 minute miles or 11 minute miles. Don't worry what others think. |
