Top three: If MacNamara runs smart, he could get in. If Wheating runs smart, he will get in. If Robby runs stupid, he may not get in. If Leer runs smart, he may get in. If Manzano runs smart, he will probably get in. If Centro runs, he will get in.

MacNamara needs to get the A in the process if he's going to make the team, which looks unlikely right now.

I dont see robby making it in. Not unless he runs a better race. He hasnt seemed to handle the traffic well enough. But he does have wheels.

Leer won't get unless he runs the A Standard in the final, so he's probably staying home again.

Andrews is a shoe-in only if it is stricly a sit-and-kick sutuation.
Since MacNamara needs the A standard to go even if he gets top 3, he will likely take the pace out quicker, which may burn out the most potent part of Andrews's kick (but not completely take it away.
Wheating has a proven kick even off a faster pace.
My picks: Wheating, Manzano, and MacNamara barely squeezes in.
Leer may knock off one of the M's, but Wheating will win the race.

You don't think the world bronze medalist will make the team? Centro has looked the best in the prelims.

I don't think Wheating or Andrews have the tactical ability to get top 3. If the race is anything like last year (where the race stayed in a pack almost the whole way through and a large number of runners finished within one second of 3rd) I don't think either of them will be able to handle it.

My picks: 1) Centro 2) Manzano 3) Torrence.

It should be : Centro,Manzano,Torrence. Wheating's name is splashed everywhere compared to the others (strange)but he's already had to run 100% effort to get to where he is, while Centro and others glided through with less effort.

If the pace goes fast, and I think it will, then I think Manzano, Torrence and Wheating get it.

Some predictions baffle me. Are you even watching the opening rounds?

so your point is, if someone runs smart they might or might get in, based on if others run stupid or smart? Insightful

Define "fast", didn't Robby close in 53 high in his 3:34 race? I'd say that's a fast race and he closed real well.

Torrence has by far been the most consistent American this year. Hard to not see him making it.

manzano and torrence have the consistency, it's them and then i'll say also centro--talented but had surgery?__ with wheating as a wild wild card.

^This. Torrence and Manzano are making it through. Centro looks tough. Andrews, McNamara, and See are on the cuff.
