On the women's side, the difference between Kellyn Johnson (10th, 32:30.4, extreme heel striker) and Alissa McKaig (11th, 32:31.7, extreme forefoot striker) is the most striking (no pun intended). Yet they run 6.1 miles and are separated by only 1.3 seconds.

Bio-mechanics can only take you so far. At the end of the day it is the running and mileage/work that counts. The little things help, but they do not work if you don't take care of the BIG thing--running.
