What training has he done and how did he do in high school??? Watching him win that 5k and 10k at NCAAs was amazing. Why is he running for Utah? What training has he done during his college career? |

He has interviews on flotrack. He wasn't really a standout in HS from what I remember. Then in college his coach experimented with higher mileage I think, and it worked so Cam kept bumping it up. |

Use the search function there are tons of threads on this. Basically he ran 4:18 in high school and went to suu. When he was there he realized that he needed to up his mileage from 60 mpw. He built his mileage for 5 years up to the point where he now runs 150 mpw. All that training paid off and Cam Levins was reborn into Cam MF Levins this spring. |

No offense to your low mileage project, but Cam Levins apparently runs around 155 miles a week and he just won both the 5k, closing in a 54, and the 10k at NCAAs. |

I forget if it was in a flotrack interview or a print source, but I'm 95% sure he's said he ran 1:58.x and 4:00.x for 800 and 1500, not 1:55 and 3:55. |

Man...he was only a slightly above average HS runner (PR's not worthy of a lot of intention) and look what he's become with that crazy mileage...goes to show that if you run a lot and handle it well, you can improve like crazy. |

its because of the high mileage that he improved... But 4:18, 15:30 and 1:58 are not "average" for a highschool kid he clearly has a good amount of talent |
