Its towards the end of the year and im getting really nervous about college. I've taken the SAT and i got a 2050, so im pleased with that. however, i got a d in ap physics my first teacher. Teachers at our school generally allow kids to raise a d to a b if you pass the ap test, but the test was really hard and im not sure if i did pass. if worst comes to worse, should i take the class again 1st semester? or should i take it at a community college over the summer? i really would like to atttend UC Davis and heres my grades (soph to junior) and i've taken/in 4 ap classes throughout sophomore and junior year. senior year im taking 4 aps and im definitely going to be more serious about those classes. 3.7, 4.2, 3.5, 4.0 2000 SAT im aiming for sub-16 in xc but who knows? |

if i were to raise that d to a b, then my third semester gpa on there would go from a 3.5 to a 3.8 |

Why would you have to take the class again? To improve on the "D"? Is it really that big of a deal? I would think one lower grade like that is not a huge concern. |

can i still get into oregon? i probably won't be able to run for their team, but at this point i don't really care. with like a 3.7 average gpa with that 1 D and like a 2050 SAT could i still get in. Its a big deal to me because i fvcked up during my junior year which is supposed to be the most important. |

ok- sorry if I sounded rude before, I just didn't know the details about what you wanted regarding college. What about UC Davis? Would you prefer Oregon? Either way, I would think your grades and scores are good enough to get into Oregon. Look up the stanford vs. oregon academics thread on here; it might be able to help you better than I can. |

Don't go to Oregon. The academics suck testicles and unless you can run under 1:49/3:44/14:00 nobody will even notice you on the team. |

i mean i always wanted to run at a d1 school but its not the end of the world if i don't. i ran 4:36 and 9:55 this past season so it would've probably been pretty difficult to walkon. im going for 15:30 this season for personal pride, and then i don't mind hanging around in tracktown usa training on pres trail, running around hayward field. it'd be a good experience. and if i don't like it i can always transfer after 1 or 2 years |

i was planning on applying to UC Berkeley UC Davis UC Irvine St. Mary's College of California Loyola Marymount University UCSD UCLA Boston University University of Texas Oregon Washington before this year happened. I can only blame myself for my grade in Physics this year but i'm trying to make the best of it if i don't pass the test. what schools do i still have a shot at getting into? i know the UC's are probably not in the question anymore |

If you are some rare ethnicity, they'll all take you! (If you are this concerned, re-take the class at a JC...) |
