A great run. From the splits, I think she ran the fastest last 6 hours of anyone, male or female. I'm tempted to say she has great potential, but since she just broke a long-standing record by the ultra great Sue Ellen Trapp, obviously that potential is here now. She's runs smoothly, has a great ultra attitude, and an entertaining blog. It will be interesting to see what she does in the years to come. Excellent runs by the top three (at least) women and top two men. |

The U.S. women are posting some great times and results in the world of ultramarathons these days... somewhere off in the background. |

She's one of the few ultrarunners who isn't annoyingly self-absorbed and she seems to actually enjoy what she does. |

Not for lack of effort, but for lack of intelligence, what might have been her average per-mile pace for this race? |

A toughie... lemme see here, (147.90/24)*3^7/18.21, take away four, add two to the seventh power and ... |

Check my math, but I believe it's about 9:44 147.9 miles 24 hours=1440 minutes ~9.73 minutes per mile .73*60 seconds~44 seconds |

Great! She's the "best" athlete in a sport about 50 total people participate in! |

So, make it 51 and get out there and run her right into the ground. |

So, make it 51 and get out there and run her right into the ground.[/quote] LOL I don't see what the big deal is, either. Just run for 100 miles, and then you've got a measly 47.9 miles to go! |
