We did not hear it "hear" first. He is not an underdog or someone who didn't run that fast in high school like Wheating. He was a 4:01, 1:48 runner. Any other year than Verzbicas and he would be number one ranked in the 800 AND mile.

okay teacher. i'm sorry. and if you pay attention. mudd was a 4:20 miler his senior year. and so far i havn't heard one message board about mudd being a contender in this summers trials.. he is just running 3:40 now.. but come this summer he will be running under 3:35.. make any smart a*s statement you want.. but the fact is that no one is talking about him. and he is easily the best freshman in track i can think of when it comes to impacting at ncaa outdoor track

You are correct. Mudd is very good and could potentially shock some people this summer.

This still doesn't change the fact that you write like you've never passed the third grade.

his junior year his season best was 4:38 and his senior year he ran 4:20 and a couple 4 :15'S AND when it counts he is there in the big races. and he ran almost a sub 4 mile.. he has always been a 800 runner but he is really learning how to punish guys at the end of the race and his drive to win is why he produces fast times. he runs to win.. you will learn this in time

ORLY?

5 miles or 1600s under 4:15 as a senior. 4:19 as a junior, and, more importantly, 3 800s at 1:51.01 or better. He focused on the 800 as a junior, but was clearly in like 4:10 mile shape.

Great runner with a lot of upside, but his improvement curve is nowhere near as steep as you seem to think.

why am i getting negative feedback. about saying a runner is going to do really well.. and that he is really improving.. so to tell you but in two years to go from a 4:20 miler to a 3:40 1500 metter runner is crazy!.. and if you really were a "mudd" fan then you would know that mudd did actually run a 4:38 his junior year.. he may have ran one fast race 4:19 i watched him run the 4:38. and his senior year. he was nothing special in the mile till the end of the year..stay on topic... this thread was supose to be about how good mudd can become.. not trying to find ne thing in my message to talk sh*t about.. lol

The reason people are giving negative feedback is because you acting like you discovered the kid and that nobody is talking about him. Everyone has been talking about him for two years. Everyone knows he is fast. Everyone knows that he will be amazing in the future. But you are acting like you are a running fan genius. Mudd did not come out of nowhere. Heck, Ryan Fenton was telling everyone to watch out for his kick the whole race. Why? Because everyone knows how fast he is already.

I'm gonna have to agree with the other posters that Mudd is more of a known than an unknown at this point. Let's also keep in mind he is young and has some time. No need to crown him just yet. Not being negative and actually am curious as to why you say he and Mac Fleet are our only future hopefuls besides Manzano. There are others. Fleet is constantly injured - his latest being a plantar f that he is just coming back from. I would really love to see him completely healthy for an 18 month or so period and find out what he can really do. Talked with people close to him a few weeks ago and he is on the mend, but we always keep our fingers crossed. Mudd is an absolute burner and may have better top end speed than Fleet - hard to tell as Fleet is silly fast as well and certainly stronger/more mature than Mudd. Sky is the limmit for both if they can stay healthy (especially Fleet).

"Terrible grammar. Horrible spelling. Indiana's finest."

-Those are all sentence fragments. It might be best to leave the grammat comments alone.
