Daaaamn! Do you have a picture of that or even still have them?

I had an Asics 2070 or late model 2000 series, can't quite recall as I was a freshman in high school. Then I actually regressed and had a few pair of Nike Shox. :(

Yes, I still have them and the shoe box they came in. I know, it's a sickness.

Some variety of low-end early-90s asics. No idea what the model name was. EVA slab, no motion control, nylon and suede. Some of the most comfortable running shoe's I've owned.

One of the early Asics 200x series, which I wore for all of middle school track and cross. Before that I ran in those Adidas indoor soccer shoes.

Used pair of Nike Cortez in Fall of 1973..followed by a new pair of Adidas Country (leather with green stripes...I loved that shoe) during the same season.

I didn't know this at the time (freshman year high school), but washing and drying them shrunk the EVA misole. The bottom sole never shrunk, so after repeated washing and dryings, the sole extended past teh cushioning by a good 1/4". I just trimmed it off with an X-Acto knife. Also used copious amounts of Shoo-Goo on the heel.

Not counting Converse or adidas sneakers used for running, it would be Brooks something or others (late 1970s'). Blue nylon with a white stripe. I wish I had saved them.

I ran my first several months of XC in the heavy as lead New Balance 991's. Didn't know what to do when I put something lighter on. I then made my way through Adidas.

Beta bullets (briefly - just killed my feet), then first real pair was Tiger Cortez (white leather, red/blue stripes) in summer of 1972 - an old timer down the block told me I should get a "real" pair of running shoes if I was gonna be a runner. Second pair was Nike Cortez, which I found strange at the time....same model name, different company? Who were these Nike guys? (which some of my teammates thought was pronounced "Nyk").

Onitsuka Tigers (blue nylon that weighed virtually nothing) in 1970. They had arch support and that's about it.

My grandmother purchased them from a fellow named Dick Pond, selling them out of a trailer at a local cross country meet.

I trained (not much then at age 11) in them and raced in them - if you call it that.

And oh, they were perfectly acceptable shoes.
