""I’ve known Alberto Salazar since he was a high school runner, but 14 Minutes opened my eyes to who he really is, what he values most, and why he aimed so high. I always felt Alberto had ‘heart’ and this book proves it. It’s a terrific read!" —Bill Rodgers, Boston and New York City Marathon champion" .... |

Shorter and Lance Armstrong praised it as well. You honestly think they needed to get paid for that? I am finding it to be a very good read. I will be waiting for my check in the mail:) |

Too bad there are so many errors. For example: The 10,000m is 25, not 26 laps. Wrong winning times for his Boston win and 1983 10,000 m at Indianapolis. His 14;14 5000m as a 16 yo was an age group record, not a world junior record. |

NO! it wasn’t downhill with a wind. It wasn’t in Boston. If you had a clue (and likely you do and are trolling) you would know Bob is good people. Respected. Loved. Excellent family man. And tougher than most anyone in the last 40 years. |

I thought Hodge ran his 2:10 at Boston it might have been Fukyokou. (sp)/ Actually now I'm pretty sure he had breakthough in Boston in 1979 but it was 2:12. They year Rodgers ran low 2:09 for the American Record. Fukyokou I don't think has any downhills but it is a point to point course. |

BH ran his 2:10:59 in 1980, placing 2nd to Dick Quack's 2:10:47 at the Nike OTC Marathon. |

Does the book go into detail about his heart attack? Whether it was genetic or a dietary issue? Salazar was the last person who I imagined with coronary disease. Does he talk about his rival Henry Rono or Suleiman Nyambui? The creation of Athletics West? But the book is slated for my read list. |

I agree that the book was good (even if there were some editing issues in addition to what one of the earlier posts pointed out). Answers to Weitzleberg's questions below. Also, I had no idea he was 6'1".
