How long can LRC hold this classic running exercise for? Obviously this is the internet, so there will be lots of lying, but I am a plank master. As a high school track athlete we will usually do 3-5 minutes of plank before beginning practice, but after a plank duel with my team I know that I can go for at least 15 minutes. What's your record? And someone will invariably ask for times so, 800:2:02 400:51 |

my friend i ran with in high school has the unofficial world record for the plank. not lying, he went like 36 minutes (or close to it). |

I worked on a construction crew a few summers while I was in college. First job ever, I show up at the site with my crew. Suddenly, one of the guys I'm working with says "man, I forgot the hammer in the truck, can you hold this plank while I run back and get it." The guy then proceeds to hand me the 8 foot long 1 inch by 8 inch plank we were about to nail into place. Well, wouldn't you know it, the guy got distracted while he was going back to get the hammer. Project manager wanted to talk to him. So here I am, just standing there holding a plank and waiting for the guy with the hammer. It'd been damn near an hour when the guy finally came back with the hammer. Though I should say that I could've gone longer if the guy had taken longer. I figure I could have gone an hour 15. Even then I only would have had to stop because I drank a ton of coffee in those days (construction workers have early mornings) and I really had to pee by the time the guy with the hammer showed up. |

I was once running for office. I gave a speach outlining my platform; one of my advisors told me that I shouldn't discuss a certain part of my platform until after the primary, so I held that plank for about four months. |

Usually a good 20 minutes, but as short 2 minutes if it's been awhile since the last time I held a plank. |

I was usually pretty good at navigating at sea with my brig, but my astrolabe wasn't affixed properly. Off chart by a few degrees of latitude. Missed a supply port, and the crew started to get restless and barged into my quarters. A few filthy, toothless lookouts tied me up and carried me to the side of the ship. They pushed me out onto the plank we used on our port side. I was able to hold my balance for about 3 minutes until I was booted over. Although I was able to tread water for about an hour until merchant passed by and brought me aboard. |
