Yeah, if you mattered you would have known in January. No one on here waits for the lottery. We already qualified. Go find RunnersWorld or Running4fun.com

Well for your info, I had knee surgery last, year and was unable to gain a qualifying time. BTW I have PR's of 1:14 for the 1/2 marathon and 2:41 for the marathon. I look forward to finishing ahead of you.

Is it still possible to get an entry into the race? Or am I out of luck?

Nice, sounds like you are mediocre. My PRs for the half and full marathon are 1:08 and 2:27, respectively.

I'd just wait for the 2013 race and get a qualifier. Have fun walking over the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge behind 100,000 people from your lottery corral.

charity spots probably, but you're better off just picking another race

What is so sad is that you have really good times, yet you don't have the ability to act like an adult. Enjoy your fast times, in the long run they amount to very little.

Only if you join one of the charity options. There are 2 listed on the NYRR website. Good luck.

Listen, I agree with you. That is why I place more of my self worth on my hot 19-year-old wife and tricked out Hummer H2. I am also a plastic surgeon. I am just a bad ass and my jersey at NYCM will read "HotDoc" on the front.

I'm from Dallas.

if you can manage running better then 1:30 for the brooklyn 1/2, you can still qualify for this years race.

There is no "lottery corral". If he's local and a club member, he'll get into Local Competitive. Otherwise, corrals 1 or 2 I'd think. For his pace, it's a great race. Not crowded. Never alone, but a clear run after the first 200 meters or so. Good luck to him.

I suspect there is a typo in your responses. Shouldn't that read Home-E-O-Pathetic? Plastic surgeon married to a 19 year old. What's the matter wouldn't anyone with common sense marry you? (Not that all 19 year old women have no common sense, but apparently this one doesn't and give her a couple of years and she'll figure it out) Besides it is quite possible Mr. Texas is a Troll.

Hey Lucky Lottery, congrats on getting in. Have you ever run NYC before? I did it back in '05 and got in this year through guaranteed entry from a half marathon (after this year there is no way I can qualify again because of the tightened standards). I am hoping for a PR but really concered about the crowding during the race; it's always a bit of a gong show. The worst part is sitting in the field freezing your ass before the race starts. Otherwise, cool race to do.

Last time I did NYC was way back in 95, the year the winds went crazy. It's been 6 years since I did a marathon so my goal is to get in good shape to have a strong run. I'm not worried about times but I should be able to dip under 3:10.

Have fun in NYC this year. I ran NYC in 2007 and it was awesome. I got guaranteed entry through the Brooklyn half that year, but when I first applied I think I put down 3:30 as my estimated time (I had just started running and really had no idea) and started pretty farther back than I should've. I think it took me 3 minutes to cross the start line, but I ended up passing a ton of people and running 2:50. My point being, starting behind a bunch of people can be fun and you can end up having an awesome race.

Same story as you, qualified with a half and put 3:25 as a realistic time since I heard it was difficult. How far back would that put me? Don't mind a few minutes to cross. Wouldnt want to wait over 30 though.

If I applied for a non-guaranteed entry and didn't get in, but then ran under 1:30 at the Brooklyn half marathon, could my entry get converted to a guaranteed entry?
