I'm not sure what it is about his statement that really resonates with me, but it hurts. It hurts deeply. I guess I'm just wondering how he could be so cruel - so hurtful. What did I ever do to you, Alberto? I never called you a Mexican. I never called you a cheat. I read and enjoyed "Duel in the Sun" and "The Men of Oregon." I never insulted you for what ended up being an absolutely 1-dimensional, pathetic obsession with running that drove you into a deep depression, where drugs were the only answer. I never insulted you for never being able to find any refuge of life or worthiness outside of the relatively silly sport of foot-racing. Yes, I will now choose not to buy your book. It's not because you have nothing worthwhile to say (though you don't), having never done anything of real impact or truly pushed humanity forward - to become more human. Was there a chapter on "grey" supplements. Low dose SARMS, manipulating epi/test ratios, and thyroid replacement? What about a chapter on his relationship with Balco and Victor Conte and what a wonderful, revolutionary product ZMA was? Does anyone know if Conte has been asked about Salazar now that he's singing like a bird. I think I'll tweet him and see if he'll dish. Might help Salazar sell a few books. |
