help predict my marathon off of this workout:

1600 warmup

8 x 400: 81, 80, 80, 79, 80, 80, 79, 82 leaving every third minute

1600 cooldown

marathon is next weekend. Thanks guys!

Better indicator
1x26.2 miles at marathon race pace.

Ignore those guys, they don't know what they are talking about.

Anyway to get a little more technical, it looks like you averaged 81.3 seconds for your 8 400s. That comes out to 5:27 per mile pace.

Based on that, I think you could run about 2:22:56, give or take 10 or 15 seconds.

Best of luck. It looks like you've at least worked the pace into your legs.

I have the opposite problem. I need help with my mile pace for a big invitational this weekend. I ran 14 miles at 7:00 pace last week. What do you think I can run my mile?

How is a 400m workout any kind of marathon predictor? Imagine if Alan Webb or Ryan Hall did 8x400m as a marathon predictor.

Why not use a half race? or at least a 10K or 15K?
