Times were 33, 31, 30, 29, 30, 30, 30, 29, 30, 28. Does this suggest anything for the 800m or 1600m? I was thinking that the reps were too short to suggest anything, but then again, I had very little rest. The workout was fairly easy. I wanted to go all out on the last one, but coach wouldn't let me. Also, 400m PR is 53. Not sure on 800m / 1600m PRs. |

Technically, I did 10x200s but two of them were slow so my brain forgets them. The title should have said 10x200 though. And yes, each rep was with 40s rest. |

That's a similar workout to what some of our varsity guys do (well, that's less volume, but they do 200's @ 28-32 w/ similar recovery)... so I'm guessing that's indicative of 2:05ish for 800. It's really too short for guessing a 1600. |

If you don't mind me asking, specifically, what's the workout they do? And what are their PRs? I'd like to compare myself. Thanks, |

more specifically... I think the workout our guys do is 2x8x200m, but there is 5-10 minutes rest between the two sets. approximate times for those guys... 55/2:00/4:35 2:05/4:35 4:35/10:00 (could probably run about 2:05) 4:45/10:00 (could probably run about 2:10) 55/2:05 55/2:10 |

Last year in the spring I did: 4x200 with 100 jog recovery in 30 seconds 400 jog recovery in 2:00 4x200 with 100 jog recovery in 30 seconds I averaged 28.7 on the 200's, then a few weeks later raced a 1:54.6, which averages out to 28.65 per 400. So this workout is pretty dead on as a race indicator for me. You did two more reps, but with longer rest...but then again you didn't have the long break in the middle...but was your recovery 8:00 pace jogging? These all contribute to how the workout feels. |

Over a decade ago I did 36x200@35secs with 200 jog. It was an impressive workout for me at the time, but I don't know whether it meant a damn thing. |
