So, out of nowhere I started running the second week of january and have averaged 3-4 days a week of mostly 20MPW. I am 30 yrs. Old and havent ran in about 10 yrs. But managed to only gain 20 pounds since. My miles have been mainly easy 6 milers of 6:35-8 min pace. I have no idea what to expect as my last 2 mile time trial was in college xc and ran low 10's I believe. My question is, will a sub 11:30 be a good goal? I honestly dont know what to expect. |

"Haven't run", not "haven't ran". Is English your 2nd or third language? |

Yes that's a good goal - you'll find your times will come down as you lose that extra 20 pounds. |

In English, the period goes INSIDE the quotation mark at the end of a sentence. Is English your second or third language? |

you are correct. However, the mistake I made has nothing to do with English. It is a general rule/convention that applies to all Germanic and Latin language. Learn to distinguish between various types of mistakes. |

It's never a good idea to ask for personal trainng advice on Saturday night when most have had too much to drink. If 6:35 for 6 miles is an easy run for you, then 5:45 for 2 shouldn't be too much of a stretch. I'd focus on keeping good form to avoid injury as you ramp up the pace into uncharted waters. Especially given the extra ballast you're carrying. |

Sorry for the grammar error, I typed on my iphone just as I am now. Yes, english is my second language and yes I did it! I forot my watch at home so I couldn't get my mile split, I felt pretty good and relaxed, finished with my fastest finish sprint ever, ran somehing like 11:07. I left before results were posted but I glanced at the clock during my sprint. |
