Edited: The latest official entries will always be here:
http://www.mtsacrelays.com/confirmations/2012/eumeetprogram.htm and neither Alan Webb nor Dathan Ritzenhein is running. We removed the OP's link. Mt SAC entries are in: PUMA Mile has Alan Webb v. Garrett Heath. Lets see if Webb is back or not. Ritz v. Lalang in the 5000. Also Miles Batty, Collegiate mile record holder, and Cam Levins, someone who always tries to make it a race. This will be a great meet to watch. For the women, the 800 and 5000 are looking sharp. 800 has Maggie Vessey, Alice Schmidt, Lativia Thomas, and Christin Wurth-Thomas. 5000 has Sheila Reid, Molly Huddle, Sara Hall, Jenny Simpson, Anna Pierce, Emily Infield, and Brie Felnagle. Looks like some great racing coming this weekend. |

...and the chase for the A standards begins. This is gonna hurt a little... |

Unless Webb runs 3:54, or there is an official time at 1500m (which I doubt there will be), Webb wouldn't qualify for the Olympic trials after this race as they only use one Mile "A" standard for the trials and not a "B" standard while for the 1500m there is an A and B. So if Webb is in 3:54 shape great, but otherwise he would have to do another race after this to qualify for the trials. Don't mean to be pessimistic, but he's probably not in 3:54 shape. Prove me wrong Webb |

I don't know if we can take another Webb flop. Go Webb! Both the women's and men's 5000 should be fast and speaking of underperforming athletes it will be intresting to see how Anna pierce will run. |

For Webb in the mile, I predict anything between 3:50 and 4:10. For Ritz, i'll go out on a limb and predict 13:xx. Also, at least one woman in the 5000m will run a time that starts with 15. you heard it here first losers |

I think Webb lacks the endurance for a full mile. |

Dathan Ritzenhein@djritzenheinReply Retweet That's was a good long hard workout! It is amazing how much faster you can go with a good group of guys. Makes me excited for Mt. Sac! Ritz sounds ready, I say he dips just under 13:30. |

Ritz ran 13:27 as a college freshman and generally rounds into shape fairly quickly, so I would be shocked if he didn't run at least that fast and possibly much quicker. |

Yep, Alex's son. |

Agree, ritz could be well under 13:30. The old Ritz could get injured and within 6 weeks be near his PR. He is more fit aerobically than back then. |

after 28:21, I'd be surprised if he goes very close even to 13:30. does he have the speedwork yet? 13:40'd not shock me. but if healthy he will drop plenty of time by the olympics. |
| Much better |

Wait, so Ritz can be 40 seconds off his pr and be fine for the trials, but Webb can't be 10 seconds off in the 1500? |

Was Webb's name on that heat sheet earlier today? It isn't there now. |

alan webb already has a B standard qualifier for the olympics, based on his 3:37.82 on march 3rd 20ll at the melbourne, australia meet. |

Wait now both Ritz AND Webb aren't listed in the entries...did both drop out? At least Evan Jager is still in the steeple |

I couldn't find Steven Pfeiffer in the entries and even used the search function on Chrome. I thought he would be running since its an Olympic year. |

I think there will be a camera at 1500. I read it on some Puma mile promotional site. |

Ritz is indeed no longer on the start list for the elite 5000. Two possibilities: first, in the last day or two he picked up a cold or a minor injury; second, his last few workouts have been going so well that the decision was made that he would forgo the Mt. Sac 5000 and aim the following week to go for the "A" standard in the 10000 at Payton Jordan. I certainly hope it's the second of these possibilities.
