If they got rid of the 5000, 10000, and marathon, elimated the 3 per country limit and made the only long distance race of the games the half marathon, it would be awesome.

The problem with this is the fact that the marathon is linked with the olympic (even though it is often not the best marathon of the year).

Put it in the first week of the games and make it a team race in addition to the individual race.
